Day 4: Compass Pose Tutorial
Intention: Ground
Duration: 15 minutes
Props: Rolled hand towel or yoga strap
Over the past few days, you’ve been working on a combination of strength and flexibility in your lower body. Now, it’s time to apply that to the peak pose, Compass (Surya Yantrasana). The sequence will begin with a warm-up that includes external rotation of hips, hip flexion, glute stretching, spinal rotation, and shoulder opening! Wow, a lot goes into this pose haha. Keep an open mind and if your compass doesn’t exactly look like mine…it’s a-okay! Everyone’s body is built differently and it’s the effort that counts. Enjoy your practice.
